Biography of Debora S. Rolland
Debora S. Rolland is Vice President of Operations and Development of the Ohio & Erie Canalway Coalition located in Akron, Ohio.
The Ohio & Erie Canalway Coalition (OECC) is the regional, non-profit organization working for the conservation, development and interpretation of the natural, historical and recreational resources along the Ohio & Erie National Heritage Canalway from Cleveland to New Philadelphia, Ohio. Through the conservation and interpretation of these resources, OECC seeks to stimulate community and economic development while enhancing the quality of life for the residents of Northeast Ohio. Mrs. Rolland is responsible for the management of the Summit County Trail and Greenway Plan and works with over 30 municipalities within Summit County on the implementation. Mrs. Rolland administers the Summit County Trail & Greenway Grant Program with over one million dollars provided to the different communities as seed funding for trail and greenway projects.
Mrs. Rolland is involved in numerous organizations within the field of trail and greenspace as well as volunteering in organizations not affiliated with natural resources. She’s played an integral role in the planning and implementation of regional as well as local trails within Summit County. She serves as a board member of the statewide organization, Earth Share of Ohio, as well as served as a park board member of the City of Hudson Parks. Mrs. Rolland has been a featured panelist/speaker for conferences including the International Heritage Conference and the Ohio Parks and Recreation. Mrs. Rolland often presents at local council meetings as well as a speaker for various organizations. Mrs. Rolland has served on numerous committees including the Summit County Trail & Greenway Advisory Committee, the Summit County Technical Advisory Committee and other local trail and greenway committees. Mrs. Rolland has appeared on numerous radio programs as well as television promoting health and wellness initiatives.
Mrs. Rolland resides in Hudson, Ohio with her husband and children. In her spare time, she enjoys running and bicycling on the Towpath Trail with her family.
