Next Century Ride: June 9-10, 2018
In the Ohio & Erie Canalway Coalition's largest fundraiser of the year, more than 100 bicyclist raise money for the organization, continued development of the Towpath Trail, and development of connetor trails. In one or two days, bicyclists travel the entire length of the Towpath Trail, gathering donations and pledges as they train before the ride. The boutique ride is fully-supported with two lunch spots, ten healthy food and water stops, trailblazer support, personalized jerseys, and more.
The fundraiser began in 2009 as a response to the economic downturn. That year, 17 bicyclists raised $22,000 for the organization. The event has grown exponetially in the time since, with 132 bicyclists participating in 2017 and raising $150,000. The ride has attracted cyclists from across the country (and across the pond) interested in experiencing the Ohio & Erie Canalway National Heritage Area and supporting the worthy cause.

Cyclists avoided the rain, snow, sleet, and hail of past years for a sunny 2017 Huntington Towpath Century Ride. One hundred thirty-two cyclists rode in this year's Huntington Towpath Century Ride on June 10-11, raising $150,000 for continued development of the Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail and connector trails. Around 30 riders completed the journey on Saturday, while the remaining participants returned on Sunday to complete the ride. The Century Ride is fully supported, with riders asked to raise a minimum of $750 for the Towpath Trail (goal of $1,000 each).
