Summit County Trail & Greenway Plan

The Summit County Trail & Greenway Plan-Phase 2 is a conceptual plan proposing trails and greenways throughout Summit County. These networks of trails are east and west linkages, linking communities to communities, also linking communities to the Towpath Trail and to other local and regional trails and greenways. To date, this plan is implemented and will be available to the local communities. The Plan, identifies trails and greenways throughout Summit County and maps of the nine regions within Summit County.
Several grassroot committees have been formed as a result of this plan and the OECC is working with various communities to assist in the implementation of trails in their area.

How can you be involved?
These trails and greenways will happen at the local level, thus, grass root committees are imperative to the success of this plan. If you are interested in becoming involved, please contact Debby Rolland, Summit County Trail and Greenway Community Grant Program Coordinator, at the OECC office at (330) 434-5657 or contact us online.

How will these projects be funded?
These projects can be funded in a number of ways. One way, is to apply for grant money through the Summit County Trail and Greenway Community Grant Program or through the Ohio Department of Natural Resources and the Ohio Department of Transportation. Another way is to develop partnerships, folks working together to meet a common goal within their communities. Also, working with local business owners and corporations.
