Begin your trek at the Canal Exploration Center located at 7104 Canal Road in Valley View, where you can learn more about the canal and the connection between nature and history before heading south to the Frazee House.

Discover the all that Summit Lake has to offer by taking a walk along the new Ohio & Erie Canal Summit Lake trail in south Akron. While enjoying the sights and sounds of Summit Lake, you might even see a blue heron or other local wildlife.

Discover the beauty of the Tuscarawas River Valley as you hike or bike along the Tuscarawas River. Travel south from the Vanderhoof Road Trailhead (2456 Vanderhoof Road, New Franklin) to Franklin Trailhead (4 miles).

Explore the rural landscape of the Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail by visiting the Village of Navarre in Stark County. Start your journey at the Craig Pittman Park, located at 8200 Hudson Drive SW, and travel north on the Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail through the historic canal Village of Navarre, until you reach the Waterworks Park, a distance of about 3 miles, and return on the same trail. This section of trail is managed by Stark Parks, in partnership with the Village of Navarre.
