All aboard! The Canal Boat Captain's Ball is the Ohio & Erie Canalway Coalition's annual auction that raises more than $40,000 for the Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail, Connector Trails and adjacent public spaces within the Ohio & Erie Canalway.
The Canal Boat Captain's Ball virtual auction website will be live from May 8, 8:00 AM to May 15, 8:00 PM. The auction features some outstanding items to bid on, which includes a ride on the infamous Goodyear Blimp, a brewing experience with Hoppin' Frog Brewery, an electric bicycle from Blimp City Bike & Hike, and much much more!

Each year, a community leader is honored for their exemplary dedication and commitment to their community within the Ohio & Erie Canalway. This year, we honor Clifford Deveny, M.D., President & CEO of Summa Health, as the Canal Boat Captain!
Cliff Deveny, M.D., is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Summa Health, one of the largest integrated healthcare delivery systems in Ohio. Encompassing a network of hospitals, community health centers, a health plan, a physician-hospital organization, a multi-specialty physician organization, research and the Summa Health Foundation, Akron-based Summa Health is nationally renowned for excellence in patient care and for exceptional approaches to healthcare delivery.
Prior to assuming his leadership role at Summa Health in March 2017, Dr. Deveny was Senior Vice President for Physician Services and Clinical Integration at Catholic Health Initiatives in Englewood, Colorado, from 2011 to 2016. After leaving Catholic Health Initiatives, he worked in Charlottesville, Virginia, where he served as President of Locus Health, a company that develops software solutions to enable healthcare organizations improve their population health efforts.
Board-certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology, Dr. Deveny is an experienced physician and healthcare administrator with a proven track record in dealing with complex health system operational and physician alignment issues. Congratulations, Dr. Deveny on being this year's Canal Boat Captain Honoree!
