On May 24, the Ohio & Erie Canalway Coalition hosted our annual Ohio & Erie Canalway Fishing Derby at the Wilbeth Road Trailhead in Akron, Ohio. 

Third and fourth graders from Akron Public Schools were invited to learn how to catch bluegill and the importance of environmental stewardship. In addition to keeping their fishing poles, some children took home bicycles and brand new tackle boxes that they won in a raffle.
