The Ohio & Erie Canalway Coalition is excited to welcome car and travel enthusiasts for a scenic tour of the historic Ohio & Erie Canalway America's Byway!
What is the Ohio & Erie Canalway America's Byway? Nationally designated by the U.S. Secretary of Transportation, an America’s Byway provides a route connecting key cultural, historic, recreational and natural sites of interest within an area by way of two-lane roads.
The Ohio & Erie Canalway America’s Byway travels alongside the historic path of the Ohio & Erie Canal, the nation's first inland waterway link between the Great Lakes and the Gulf region. It is not a single road, but a carefully mapped 110-mile route through four counties and 58 communities in the Ohio & Erie Canalway National Heritage Area. Learn more about the byway.
What’s included in the Scenic Byway Registration Package? Participants will receive a curated itinerary of stops along the route, continental breakfast and refreshments, lunch, a commemorative gift, and awesome prizes and raffle opportunities all as a part of their registration package, all while learning more about the history of America’s Byway from the comfort of their own vehicle!
