Akron, Ohio (March 29, 2024): The Ohio & Erie Canal Summit Lake Trail boardwalk that connects the trail along First Street SW to the floating Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail will be closed temporarily for repairs beginning Monday, April 1 for two weeks. This closure will impact the Ohio & Erie Canal Summit Lake Trail, which will temporarily turn into an out and back trail for the duration of the boardwalk closure. Please follow directive signs that will be posted at both ends of the boardwalk. 

The construction will not impact the Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail.
